CCD Updates(04/04/2025)

1) This Sunday, we will have CCD at 10:00 AM, followed by Mass at 11:30 AM. During this Lenten season, each CCD grade will have a coin jar for students to contribute money earned through small deeds and sacrifices, fostering the true spirit of almsgiving. We kindly encourage you to support your children in participating in this meaningful act of generosity

3)After the Holy Saturday Mass(April 19th 2025), around 10:00 AM, the CCD team will host a fun-filled Easter Egg Hunt for children from Pre-K to 5th grade.Please see below for the details

4 )The Bible Quiz final (online) is fast approaching and will be conducted on Saturday, April 12th 3:00 pm EDT to 5:00 pm EDT (2-hour window). Candidates can take the Quiz from their home. The quiz will be remotely proctored. Please see more details below and also in the attached Guidelines.

▪ Candidates can start the quiz any time within the scheduled time slot and will get an hour to finish.
▪ There won't be questions from the footnotes or references.
▪ There are no negative marks.
▪ There will be 75 questions for Grades 4-12 and 100 questions for adult candidates.
▪ A trial Quiz will be available for the purpose of checking internet connectivity and system readiness.
▪ Verse-based Questions: Answer the chapter and the verse number given the quoted verse or answer the correct quoted verse given the chapter and verse number. The questions will be from the Gospel of Mark for students and from Gospel of Mark and Letter to Galatians for adults. There will be a maximum of 5 questions in this category.





As a special recognition, Senior citizens (aged 60 or above) who score 80% or above in the final quiz will be awarded a certificate of achievement from the Diocese. Please update the specific field in the SpeedExam candidate profile.

5) The Syro Malabar USA Diocesan Eucharistic Convention will take place at St. Thomas Syro Malabar Catholic Forane Church, Somerset, NJ, from May 23rd to May 25th. There will be separate sessions for kids, youth, and adults. We encourage you to participate in this blessed gathering. Please find the registration details in the link below.

1)Tomorrow, our church will be celebrating the Feast of St. Joseph with a common Mass at 10:00 AM. In a special way, we will also be commemorating the 25th anniversary of our Chicago Diocese. Additionally, we will be inaugurating the Holy Childhood Association and marking its anniversary. 2)Our Lenten retreat will begin next week, with separate sessions for different grades .One for children from Pre-K to 5th grade and another for students from 6th grade and up. Dear all, Below are the CCD Updates 1. On October 13, 2024 (Sunday) , the CCD students will lead the Rosary devotion after the 11:30 AM Mass. We encourage every family in the CCD group to attend both the Mass and the Rosary. This date holds special significance for the Catholic Church, as it marks the celebration of the  final apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Fatima . 2.  There will be a meeting for CCD parents and teachers on  October 20, following the 11:30 AM Mass . Please join us to share your valuable insights and thoughts.  3.  The CCD registration fee will be as below. One child is $70. Two children are $100. Three and more children are $130.Fees are due on the first day of class.
